The beginning of the school year is when you build your relationship with your students, and I didn’t want to miss out on that opportunity.

—Janet Udomratsak, elementary school teacher

With the support of her family, doctors and school staff, she received support to adapt space in her hospital room to turn it into a virtual classroom. She had to take on this great challenge of distance learning within a few months of her second child being born.

Her love for teaching, for children, and for building that relationship is so much stronger than just wanting to sit around and do nothing.

The hospital staff makes sure that everything is in order with her and her future baby every day, and Janet plans to teach in this way until the doctors give her instructions to go home. Her decision is to admire.
