In the 17th chapter of the 20th season, “The Good, the Sad and the Drugly,” Lisa was appointed to write a statement on what Springfield will look similar in the year 2059. 

When she found online news about soap being used for drinks alternatively of water, a world war over a small drop of oil, a parking lot yet to be filled forever, polar bear committing suicide, she was filled with fear and worry and terrified her classmates with her dark thoughts of the oceans rising from global warming, turning humanity and the valleys into a desert and darkness falling upon Nineveh. Sounds familiar?

After Greta’s speech at the United Nations, people started comparing their tone to Lisa’s presentation, and you can not blame them for that. Some even took it more, stating that Greta Thunberg is Lisa’s real-life version. And it’s not that far-fetched, too.
